Consumer Research: Snacking continues upward trend for Canadian consumers

The results are in: according to Technomic’s 2018 Canadian Snacking Occasion Consumer Trend Report, Canadians are snacking more between meals. When it comes to consumer snacking by the numbers, 55% snack between meals at least twice per day, 36% say they are more likely than usual to snack when they are feeling stressed, and 66% say they purchase snacks from coffee cafes at least once every 90 days.

Of all the snack options available to Canadians, peanuts rank extremely high: 91% of Canadian consumers feel that peanuts make a good snack, while 65% of Canadian consumers say that peanuts are one of their "go-to" snacks.
