Allergy Update: Updated food allergy prevention resource from Food Allergy Canada

FAC: Eat Early. Eat Often.Recently, Food Allergy Canada released an updated resource on introducing common allergens to infants. The resource reflects the most recent recommendations from the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) and the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (CSACI), and addresses topics such as pre-emptive testing, cow’s milk-based formulas, and the continuity of feeding.

Produced under the National Food Allergy Action Plan, the resource for parents, Eat Early. Eat Often., includes practical tips on feeding babies early, recipes for different allergenic foods, and more. Offered in English and French, it also incorporates feedback from dietitians and provides greater clarity on feeding babies early, whether at no/low or high risk of developing food allergy.

Additional resources including webinars from Food Allergy Canada that focus on the updated guidance on early introduction and food allergy prevention can be found at foodallergycanada.ca/earlyintro.
